CORBETT, Ore. (AP) — The Multnomah County Rural Fire Protection District says the fire Sunday that damaged the historic View Point Inn at Corbett was accidental.
Chief Tom Layton says it was started on the roof by sparks from the chimney.
The Oregonian reports the fire damaged the roof, attic and third floor. The first and second floors have smoke and water damage.
No one was injured.
The inn overlooking the Columbia River Gorge is a frequent wedding site and was featured in a “Twilight” movie.
