Injured Tommy Robredo quits Swedish Open

BASTAD, Sweden (AP) — Tommy Robredo of Spain has quit his first-round match at the Swedish Open because of an injured left thigh.

The fifth-seeded Spaniard was trailing Filippo Volandri of Italy 7-5, 5-5. Robredo has won the Swedish Open twice. Volandri will face Mikhail Kukushkin or Andreas Haider-Maurer in the second round.

Top-seeded Robin Soderling of Sweden plays his first match at the clay-court tournament in Bastad on Wednesday.
