Migration to Clark County in June declined considerably when compared with the same month last year, as measured by the number of out-of-area drivers’ licenses traded in for local ones.

State records showed that 1,026 people swapped out-of-state and out-of-county driver’s licenses in Clark County last month, a decrease of 21.4 percent from 1,305 licenses exchanged in June 2010.

The downward trend also hit the rest of the state, though to a lesser degree. Statewide, 11,870 people traded in licenses from out of the area, a 12.6 percent decline from 13,586 the year before.
