Ultimate Class wins Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Ultimate Class and jockey John Velazquez held off Forest Crown by a nose to win the $54,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares on the turf at Belmont Park on Thursday.

The leader from the start, Ultimate Class prevailed for her third win in 17 starts. The 4-year-old trained by George Weaver ran the seven furlongs in 1:21.10 on the firm course.

Ultimate Class paid $9.90, $4.90 and $3.40. Forest Crown, a British-bred filly making her U.S. debut, returned $3.90 and $3.70. Exchange Funds finished third and paid $3.50.
