MADRID (AP) — World steeplechase champion Marta Dominguez says she will return to competition after being cleared of doping charges by a Spanish court earlier this week.

Dominguez was accused of providing a fellow athlete with a banned performance-enhancing substance.

The 35-year-old Dominguez says she wants to “recover my form after my pregnancy and prepare for the Olympic Games.” She provisionally retired to give birth when she was detained along with 14 people in December as part of the Spanish “Operation Galgo” doping investigation.

The two-time European 5,000-meter champion said that the tax evasion charges she still faces “have to be proven, and the rest (of the charges) were lies.”
