MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Cleveland Indians on Monday placed outfielder Grady Sizemore back on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee contusion. It’s his third stint on the DL this season, and sixth of his career.
Sizemore injured his knee in the first inning of an 8-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. He is eligible to return on August 2.
Sizemore is hitting .237 this season with 32 runs, 21 doubles, a triple, 10 homers and 29 RBIs in 61 games.
To take Sizemore’s place on the 25-man roster, the Indians called up pitcher David Huff from Triple-A Columbus. Huff, 26, is 8-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 17 starts for the Clippers.
