Crews strike Salem gas main, ignite fire

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Construction crews working in downtown Salem struck a gas line and started a fire.

The Salem Statesman Journal reports the fire broke out just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Salem Police Lt. James Aguilar says flames reached 20 feet high.

No one was injured, and no property was damaged.
