TORONTO (AP) — Brek Shea’s goal in the 48th-minute lifted FC Dallas to a 1-0 win over Toronto FC on Wednesday night.

It was Shea’s ninth goal of the season for Dallas (11-5-5). He almost got his 10th in the 61st minute, but goalie Stefan Frei managed to get a leg on the shot.

Toronto’s Joao Plata almost tied it in the 53rd-minute, but his goal was nullified by an offside call.

Toronto (3-10-9) had chances to tie it late in the game. Substitute Maicon Santos sent his header high in the 87th minute and Ryan Johnson’s raking cross almost bounced into the goal in injury time. The team has now been outscored 8-0 in its last three games.
