NUERBURGRING, Germany (AP) — Indian driver Karun Chandhok will take over Jarno Trulli’s Lotus seat this weekend in the German Grand Prix.

Chandhok joined the British team as a reserve driver after racing for HRT last season.

Team principal Tony Fernandes says the Formula One team is currently negotiating a contract extension with Trulli, who “has been extremely accommodating in stepping to the side for this race and our commitment to him is unwavering.” Fernandes didn’t say if Trulli would return for the Hungarian GP.

Lotus is still looking for its first points since returning to the F1 circuit last season.
