Vancouver — Vancouver firefighters will set mouths on fire at an all-day chili cook-off and fundraiser on Saturday to support Share, a local agency that feeds and cares for the hungry and homeless.

The department’s largest union will host Fire in the Park from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event includes a fun zone for kids, firefighters’ competition, a beer and wine garden and firefighter pipe and drum bands from throughout the Northwest. Portland saxophonist Patrick Lamb will perform from 6 to 8 p.m.

The main event is the chili cook-off. For $1, you can buy a tasting cup and help determine the best firehouse chili and booth, and the best restaurant and booth. To learn more, visit http://www.fireinthepark.com.
