CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati Reds activated RHP Jose Arredondo from the 15-day disabled list on Friday.

LHP Jeremy Horst was optioned to Triple-A Louisville to make room on the roster for Arredondo, who was placed on the DL on July 15, retroactive to July 7, with a strained right forearm. Arredondo is 1-3 with a 3.04 earned-run average in 24 relief appearances for the Reds this season.

Horst’s only appearance since being recalled from Louisville on July 15 was Monday in Pittsburgh, when he allowed one hit in 2-3 of an inning. He has no record and a 3.00 ERA in six games over two stints with the Reds this season.
