ODESSA, Wash. (AP) — Officials in Eastern Washington’s Lincoln County say a wildfire that burned across about 1,600 acres burned a shed with farm equipment but did not damage any homes. The fire near Odessa burned mostly across sagebrush.
Lincoln County District 3 Fire Chief Roger Sebesta told KREM-TV that the fire was 60 percent contained Monday night, with no more viable flames. He says rain helped fire crews.
KREM says officials think the fire was sparked Monday by a well-drilling operation in Grant County and spread to Lincoln County.
