SAN DIEGO (AP) — The agent for Vincent Jackson says the San Diego Chargers receiver will sign his non-exclusive franchise tag on Friday as soon as he is allowed to do so.
Agent Neil Schwartz said Tuesday that Jackson will earn nearly $11 million this year. He says the 6-foot-5 receiver has been working hard and is in good shape.
In 2009, Jackson set personal bests for catches (68), yards (1,167) and touchdowns (nine) and earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl. He missed the first 10 games last season in a nasty contract dispute.
He finished the season with 14 catches for 248 yards and three touchdowns. Schwartz declined to comment on whether Jackson and the Chargers might work out a long-term deal.
