PITTSBURGH (AP) — Ike Taylor is back with the Pittsburgh Steelers. How many of the defending AFC champions’ free agents will join the veteran cornerback in training camp remains very much up in the air.

Taylor confirmed the deal on his Twitter page Wednesday morning, 24 hours before the team begins training camp in Latrobe. Taylor thanked coach Mike Tomlin, the Rooney family and his agent for allowing the deal to get done before camp opened.

The 31-year-old Taylor has developed into a mainstay in the Pittsburgh secondary during his eight-year career. He finished 61 tackles and two tackles in 2010.

The Steelers are looking at re-signing several unrestricted free agents, including kicker Shaun Suisham.

Under new collective bargaining rules, Taylor won’t be able to practice until Aug. 4.
