ENUMCLAW, Wash. (AP) — A King County sheriff’s spokesman says deputies have shot an armed woman who barricaded herself inside a south county home for hours.

Officers responded to the home Thursday for a domestic violence investigation. A witness reportedly said the woman was breaking windows.

Sgt. John Urquhart says the woman became angry for an unknown reason and fired a shot into the air about 3:30 p.m.

Urquhart tells KING-TV that deputies shot the woman Thursday evening. She was reportedly alone in the house. Her condition was not immediately known nor was it clear why deputies fired.

The house is reportedly in the Enumclaw area.
