ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — It’s been a tough day for the Denver Broncos’ rookies.
Linebacker Von Miller, the second overall pick in the draft, left practice early after getting his right leg and hip stretched for more than 10 minutes midway through the workout. He went down shortly after picking off a pass from Kyle Orton.
There was no immediate word on the nature of his injury.
Shortly afterward, safety Quinton Carter, a fourth-round pick from Oklahoma, was carted off the field with a leg injury.
The Broncos began practice with all nine of their draft picks on the field after signing their final rookie holdout, third-round draft pick Nate Irving of North Carolina State, who will compete for the Broncos’ middle linebacker spot.
