ESTACADA, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon driver reached speeds of 90 mph on Mount Hood National Forest roads near Estacada, Ore., and was subdued by beanbag rounds from a shotgun.
Police say a deputy tried to pull over 36-year-old Tarrie Gibson near Bagby Hot Springs on Friday night. Gibson allegedly drove away, chased by at least two police cars.
Clackamas County deputies laid spike strips in the road, disabling Gibson’s 1998 Dodge Durango.
Gibson’s passenger surrendered. Police say Gibson stepped out of the car, but then moved to get back into the vehicle.
She was shot with beanbag rounds and taken to Willamette Falls Hospital.
