CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians’ top pitching prospect, Drew Pomeranz, who has been mentioned in trade rumors, was scratched from his scheduled start at Double-A Akron.

Pomeranz, the Indians’ top draft pick a year ago, was replaced by Matt Langwell on Saturday night.

Pomeranz, a left-hander, along with right-hander Alex White and second baseman Jason Kipnis, two other highly regarded Indians prospects, have been rumored to be part of possible trade talks with Colorado for former All-Star right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez.

Kipnis is playing for the Indians against the Kansas City Royals. White, out since May 21 with a strained right middle finger, was supposed to make a rehab appearance at Akron.

Jimenez is scheduled to start for the Rockies in San Diego.
