HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Astros have optioned third baseman Chris Johnson and first baseman Brett Wallace to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The pair began the season as starters, but have not performed as the team had hoped. Johnson is hitting .245 with six home runs and 36 RBIs in 92 games this season and Wallace is batting .268 with four homers and 26 RBIs in 101 games.

Houston recalled outfielder Brian Bogusevic from Oklahoma City and infielder Jimmy Paredes from Double-A Corpus Christi to take their spots on the roster.

The moves are the latest in a wild weekend for the Astros, who traded All-Star right fielder Hunter Pence and center fielder Michael Bourn before Sunday’s trade deadline.
