FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Albert Haynesworth’s first practice with the New England Patriots was uneventful — other than the fact he was on the field just a couple days into training camp.
Haynesworth made his Patriots debut during a walkthrough Sunday.
Haynesworth missed the early part of training camp last year with the Washington Redskins after repeatedly failing his conditioning test.
The Patriots picked him up in a trade this week. He missed Saturday’s practice for undisclosed reasons, but was on the field for Sunday morning’s workout, mostly as an observer.
Newcomer Chad Ochocinco also took part in the workout, and teammates say he is picking up the offense quickly.
Because of the lockout, this year’s training camp is a bit of a crash course to learn coach Bill Belichik’s system and expectations.
