DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani intelligence officials say American drone-fired missiles have killed three suspected militants close to the Afghan border.

The officials say the missiles hit a car in the Nargusa area of South Waziristan on Monday.

They spoke on condition of anonymity in line with their agency’s rules.

The United States routinely fires missiles at militants in the northwest. It does not publicly acknowledge the program or say who it is killing.

The attack was the first recorded missile strike in Pakistan since July 12.
