ST. LOUIS (AP) — Saint Louis coach Rick Majerus had a stent inserted into his heart recently but will be on the job for the first of several open practices beginning Monday.

The 63-year-old Majerus had the procedure done in Salt Lake City. Majerus said in a statement issued by the school Sunday night that he felt great and was looking forward to the start of the season.

Majerus rarely opens the Billikens’ practices but is making an exception for the leadup to a 10-day trip to Canada beginning on Aug. 19.
