BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Add the Buffalo Bills coaching staff to others around the league in distancing themselves from the NFL Coaches Association’s decision to side with players in the NFL labor dispute.

Offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins says the entire Bills staff supports team owner Ralph Wilson. Modkins adds, Bills coaches had no knowledge of the NFLCA’s intention to file a brief to a federal appeals court last week supporting the players’ bid to have the lockout lifted.

Modkins’ statement was released by the team, and similar to ones issued by coaching staffs in Washington, Jacksonville and Philadelphia. The Bills have cut salaries and suspended pension-plan payments during the dispute.

The Buffalo News first reported Modkins’ comments on its website Thursday.
