PASCO, Wash. (AP) — Lawyers for a 38-year-old Pasco woman accused of shooting her mother to death say they’ll put on a self-defense case at her murder trial.

Court documents say Tashia Stuart told police her mother came at her with an ax while arguing over money.

Fifty-eight-year-old Judy Hebert was found dead last March at the home she shared with Stuart.

The Tri-City Herald reports lawyers discussed the case Tuesday at a hearing in Franklin County Superior Court.

Stuart’s trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 7.
