MIAMI (AP) — LeBron James and Dwyane Wade had kind words for former teammate Shaquille O’Neal. The Big Fella was so moved, he responded by telling them to win the NBA title.
James and Wade both tweeted their respect for O’Neal on Wednesday, shortly after he used Twitter to announce his plan to retire. On Thursday, James and Wade both reiterated their praise for what O’Neal did as a player.
Wade notes that O’Neal “did it the way he wanted to do it for 19 years. There’s not many people who can say that.”
Shortly before Game 2 of the NBA finals on Thursday, O’Neal posted a video telling Wade and James to “go win that ring.” Miami is playing Dallas in the title series.
