KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — Two men from Alaska and Washington state are among 21 new and returning members appointed by the Commerce Department to the nation’s eight regional fishery management councils.

Kodiak radio station KMXT reports Eric Olson of Anchorage and John Henderschedt of Seattle were reappointed to seats on the North Pacific council.

NOAA’s Fisheries Services assistant administrator Eric Schwaab chose them from lists of nominees forwarded from each state’s governor.

Olson most recently served as the North Pacific council chair.
