Hunter acquitted of manslaughter in Shelton

SHELTON, Wash. (AP) — A man who mistook a brush picker for a bear was acquitted of a manslaughter charge Thursday in Shelton.

Mason County prosecutors said 40-year-old Gerald W. Aldrich was criminally negligent in the shooting last September of 25-year-old Carlos Pablo Carrillo as he was collecting greens used by florists.
