KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Kyle Busch says money isn’t an issue in whether former Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen will drive more races for the NASCAR star’s team.
Busch disputed on Friday the notion that funding was an issue with the Finn, who signed a deal with Kyle Busch Motorsports in April to run three to five NASCAR Trucks Series races.
Raikkonen ran a pair of Trucks races, then the Nationwide event last week in Charlotte, finishing four laps down in 27th. Busch said Raikkonen had met his financial obligations for the races he’s run.
Though Busch hasn’t discussed future NASCAR plans with the Finn, he says he’s open to talking with Raikkonen about running more Trucks or Nationwide races, mentioning venues such as Atlanta, Martinsville and Homestead.
