Mister Marti Gras wins feature at Churchill

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Mister Marti Gras caught pacesetter Lonesome Street in the final yards to win the $55,143 feature by a neck Friday at Churchill Downs.

The 4-year-old gelding, ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan, was sixth in the field of seven before angling out in the stretch with a furious run on the outside. He covered the mile on the turf in 1:34.26 and paid $6.20, $3.20 and $2.20.

Lonesome Street returned $3.80 and $2.40 and Mystic $2.40 to show.

Owned by Lothenbach Stables Inc., Mister Marti Gras earned $33,600 to increase his career total to $330,296 on his fourth win in 15 starts.
