TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arkansas right-hander D.J. Baxendale held New Mexico to four hits in eight innings and the Razorbacks eliminated the Lobos 3-0 on Saturday at the NCAA Tempe Regional.

On Sunday in another elimination game, Arkansas (39-21) will the Charlotte-Arizona State loser.

Charlotte beat Arkansas 3-2 on Friday, and New Mexico (20-41) dropped a 4-2 decision to host Arizona State on a three-run homer with one out in the ninth.

Baxendale (10-2) struck out seven and walked three, allowing just four singles and only one runner to reach third. Trent Daniel struck out the side in the ninth for his fourth save.

Collin Kuhn and Jarrod McKinney doubled in the second to give Arkansas a 1-0 lead. McKinney scored on Matt Reynolds’ squeeze bunt as Richard Olson (3-8) threw late to Mitch Garver at home.

New Mexico got three hits in a row in the second, but Luke Campbell was caught stealing and Baxendale got Logan Lippert to pop out to end the inning. The Lobos got a walk and a single from Garver in the fourth but Baxendale retired 13 of the next 14.

Olson got a bases-loaded grounder to get out of a jam in the fourth and then put down the next 10 in a row. He allowed seven hits over 7 1-3 innings.
