PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — On the day a year after Kyron Horman disappeared, dozens of volunteers with gloves and gardening tools gathered at Skyline School outside Northwest Portland in a tribute to him.
His father, Kaine Horman, and the school’s principal, Ben Keefer, decided on a a community work day focused on beautifying the school grounds. Plans included weeding, edging and spreading bark and soil.
The youth was 7 when he vanished June 4, 2010 after a science fair at the school. The Oregonian newspaper reports a task force working on the investigation is disbanding without having made an arrest, but a detective remains assigned full time to the case.
