NEW YORK (AP) — Greg Lutzka has won the Maloof Money Cup New York and the $160,000 first-place check, beating Dennis Busenitz in the head-to-head final Sunday.
Ryan Decenzo was third at the permanent Maloof Skate Park at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, which was built last year by Vans and Joe and Gavin Maloof, who own the Sacramento Kings.
Twelve skaters qualified for the finals, which were contested head-to-head through three rounds before Lutzka and Busenitz made the final bracket.
The Maloof Money Cup continues with stops in Washington, D.C., on Labor Day weekend; in Kimberley, South Africa, from Sept 30-Oct. 2; and Orange County, Calif., later in the fall.
