CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Tyler Wilson pitched 6 1-3 strong innings and Chris Taylor drove in four runs as Virginia beat East Carolina 13-1 on Sunday to win the Charlottesville Regional.

The Cavaliers (52-9), the No. 1 national seed, won their seventh in a row, set the school mark for victories and will host a super regional next weekend for the second consecutive year.

Wilson (8-0) scattered seven hits, struck out seven and walked one.

Taylor had two-run singles in the second and seventh innings, and John Barr, John Hicks and Steven Proscia also drove in a pair of runs for the Cavaliers. Virginia finished with 17 hits.

East Carolina (41-21) had beaten St. John’s 6-4 earlier in the day, but had no answer for the Cavaliers. Virginia scored 11 of its runs — and 23 of 28 this weekend — with two outs.
