ST. LOUIS (AP) — Lance Berkman is not in the St. Louis Cardinals’ lineup after receiving a cortisone injection in his left wrist.

Colby Rasmus also was scratched due to overall fatigue after manager Tony La Russa talked with the center fielder before Sunday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.

Jon Jay, who had been second in the original lineup, batted cleanup for the first time in place of Rasmus. Rookie Matt Carpenter was moved up from sixth to second.

Only four spots stayed the same, including Albert Pujols in the third slot.

La Russa said Berkman got the injection to address general soreness from an injury sustained making a diving catch last month.
