CLEVELAND (AP) — Justin Morneau and Denard Span, who both missed the last two games, returned to the Minnesota Twins’ lineup against Cleveland.

Morneau, who has a sore left wrist, was the designated hitter while Span, who injured his neck Friday, was back in center field Monday night.

Morneau, who missed the second half of 2010 with a concussion, has battled numerous injuries this season. He’s hitting .236 with four homers and 20 RBIs. Span is batting .300 with two homers and 15 RBIs.

Their return is good news for the Twins, who have been battling injuries all season. Eight players are on the disabled list, including catcher Joe Mauer, pitcher Francisco Liriano and designated hitter Jim Thome.

Minnesota has already used 39 players.
