Richland police shoot, kill man

RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — Richland police responding to a report of a suspicious person shot and killed a man Sunday morning.

A police spokesman says officers dispatched to the area found the man in a vehicle at about 6:30 a.m. in the area of Cottonwood and Thayer drives. Police say that after officers confronted the man, shots were fired. The man was shot and died at the scene.

No other details were immediately released Sunday afternoon.

The Tri-City Special Investigation Unit is investigating.
