An online survey aimed at helping understand how Clark County community needs are being met through Comcast’s cable TV service will continue taking responses through Sunday. Comcast customers and nonsubscribers are invited to weigh in, according to the City/County Telecommunications Commission.

The Telecommunications Commission is conducting the survey as part of the lengthy process of renewing Comcast’s cable franchise. Comcast was granted a 15-year franchise in November 1997 to provide cable television services in Vancouver and Clark County. The franchise will expire December 31, 2012.

All data gathered will be aggregated, with individual responses remaining anonymous. More than 500 people have completed it so far, the commission said.

In addition to the online survey, the Telecommunications Commission conducted random telephone surveys and focus groups to capture input about future cable television needs in Vancouver and Clark County.
