Firefighters on Tuesday night were fighting an industrial fire in Longview.

Officials with the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office said the blaze was at the Millenium Bulk Terminal at 4029 Industrial Way. At least five fire agencies responded after the call came in shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Spokesman Charlie Rosenzweig said plastic and insulation were involved, adding that no one was injured.

Nearby residents were advised to stay indoors. Multiple television news websites reported that sulfuric acid was the chemical involved.

At 9:20 p.m., Rosenzweig said the fire was out, but that hot spots remained and firefighters would continue to monitor the site.

Vancouver Fire Department sent its hazardous materials engine and team to the fire, Capt. Scott Willis said.
