LA GRANDE, Ore. (AP) — Archery runs in the family for the Smiths of La Grande in Eastern Oregon.

Rob and Jolene Smith began archery together when their daughter was a baby, often bringing her along.

The couple later had twins, and now the entire family is involved in the sport.

The La Grande Observer reports that Jolene Smith has already qualified for the International Bowhunting Organization’s world championship, which takes place in New York in August.

Her parents were both competitive archers, and she said female archers have seen a great deal of progress in the sport.
