Hamilton apologizes in letter to F1 chief

LONDON (AP) — Lewis Hamilton has apologized to Formula One’s governing body for a series of outbursts after the Monaco Grand Prix.

FIA president Jean Todt said the 2008 champion wrote a letter to FIA apologizing for criticizing stewards and fellow drivers after the May 29 race.

In a reference to Ali G, the TV character made famous by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, Hamilton also questioned jokingly after the race whether he received two drive-through penalties during that grand prix because he was black.
