PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Rescuers on Mount Hood are headed to an injured climber to help her get down off the mountain.

KGW-TV reports that woman suffered injuries her back and face in a small slide Thursday in the Hogsback area of the mountain.

Clackamas County sheriff’s deputies say the woman was with a group of about 12 climbers. Her name was not available.

Deputies said a “reach and treat” team was headed up to bring her down because of concerns she was unable to make the descent on her own.

The Hogsback is a long and narrow knife-edge ridge beginning at about 10,000 feet, an area that often requires crampons and is considered the more technical section of the mountain’s most popular climbing route.
