VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A man with white supremacist ties was convicted of a racially motivated attack on a black man at a Vancouver bar.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle says 32-year-old Zachary Beck of Vancouver was convicted Wednesday in federal court in Tacoma of conspiracy to violate civil rights.
Prosecutors say Beck and two other men who also have been convicted attacked the man in January 2010, shouting racial epithets.
Beck ran for city council in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 2003 under the Aryan Nations banner.
