ALBANY, Ore. (AP) — An explosion and fire has destroyed a large commercial building in Albany.
The Albany Democrat-Herald reports the owner was sleeping in a motor home parked inside the building at the time of the explosion early Friday morning but managed to escape without injury.
Brad Hadman told firefighters he woke up to a whistling sound and was forced to escape from the building through the remains of a rear wall that had been blown out by the force of the explosion.
Fire crews found the 12,000-square foot building fully involved in flames and collapsing.
The cause is under investigation.
