ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum has been sentenced to two years of probation for operating while visibly impaired.
Stonum was given a suspended sentence Friday that could put him in jail for a year if he violates probation, which includes daily breathalyzer tests.
The previous day, Stonum was ticketed for driving with a suspended license.
Michigan coach Brady Hoke handed Stonum, a starter last year for Rich Rodriguez, an indefinite suspension after he was arrested May 6. Stonum’s status with the team hasn’t changed.
When Stonum was a freshman in 2008, he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. Stonum ended up in jail last summer because he didn’t comply with terms of his probation.
