LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Mad Flatter took command of a six-horse field in the backstretch and never looked back in winning the $51,284 feature race Sunday at Churchill Downs by 1 34 lengths over Moe Man.

The 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Flatter, Mad Flatter, ridden by Jon Court, was second through the first quarter-mile before pushing to the lead he would never relinquish in covering the 1-1/16 miles in 1:43.95.

He paid $10.80, $5.80 and $4. Moe Man, ridden by Calvin Borel, paid $4.40 and $3.40 with Valerius finishing another 1 34 lengths back in third under Freddie Lenclud and returning $4.20.

Mad Flatter, owned by Bonnie Heath Farm, Holiday Stable, Bright Brook Farm and Hinkle Farms, boosted his career earnings to $265,692 and recorded his seventh win in 23 starts.
