PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Two trail runners from Portland have returned safe after spending the night in the Columbia River Gorge.

KGW-TV reports the two men were reported missing late Sunday after they failed to return home as planned.

Officials said the pair walked out on their own on Monday and were doing well.

Multnomah County sheriff’s spokeswoman Mary Lindstrand said the runners did not have cell phones or extra food, but they were in good shape.

The names of the two men have not yet been released.
