BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — A Bellingham teen has been found guilty of vehicular homicide in a crash that killed a toddler in 2010.

The Bellingham Herald reports a Whatcom County Juvenile Court commissioner found Carli Alvarado guilty on Tuesday. Her sentencing is scheduled for July 6.

The 16-year-old Bellingham High School student had been on trial since June 7 for her role in the crash that killed 2-year-old Anna Brulotte.

Alvarado and her passengers have testified that she was looking at something in the car, not at the road, in the moments before the crash. Prosecutor Dave McEachran says she also was violating her intermediate license by having two friends in the car and was speeding.
