HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — A woman charged in a crash that killed an 18-year-old Oregon man has pleaded guilty to felony hit-and-run.

The Oregonian says 33-year-old Angela Olekson entered her plea Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court. She could face as much as 18 months in prison when she’s sentenced July 15.

Last Aug. 26, Cassidy Ringwald and his 21-year-old sister were walking down a steep hill on the shoulder of a street in the Portland suburb of Cedar Mill when a vehicle hit him from behind.

Deputy District Attorney Jeff MacLean says other drivers stopped to help but the driver who hit the young man fled. Ringwald died at a hospital.

Washington County sheriff’s Sgt. David Thompson says a woman believed to be the driver called authorities late that night to identify herself.
