Letter: Weiner reflects his district

The Columbian
Published: June 13, 2011, 5:00pm

I am all for Anthony Weiner staying on as the New York Congressman and not bowing to unwarranted pressure to resign. The people in his congressional district seem to think he represents their thinking and attitude, according to the polls, and many Democrats do not seem to be serious about his resignation — even the women. It would be educational to watch him represent his “folks” on subjects such as ethics, family values, honesty, theft of services, pornography, security, and railing against his opposition for lying, pandering, falsifying information, misleading, arrogance, lack of caring, recklessness and sanctimoniousness. It would also be amusing to watch him invoke the “American people want …” phrase, representing the behavior and thinking of the American people.

Yes, to lose his voice in Congress would be a real tragedy.
