Vancouver pit bull supporters are staging another event in the wake of talk by the Vancouver City Council on banning the breed.

A pit bull walk will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot next to Who Song & Larry’s restaurant at 111 East Columbia River Way, organizer Cash Frackiewicz said Monday.

He said he expects more than 200 people. More than 400 people showed up to a protest in East Vancouver on Wednesday.

A citizen proposed the ban to the city council following an unprovoked attack by three unspayed female pit bulls on a 9-year-old boy in late May.

The city council will discuss the ban, along with options for harsher rules and penalties on vicious dogs of all breeds, in August.
